The Belconnen Community Centre has a wide range of facilities including three rooms for meetings and small functions; a well-equipped gymnasium providing supervised exercise classes; a sports hall with badminton, volleyball and basketball facilities; an art room for painting, ceramics, sculpture and textiles; an art gallery for emerging artists; a digital divide providing free computer access for community skills development; a 174-seat theatre for the performing arts; and a café providing light snacks through to main meals.

The Belconnen Community Centre is open five days a week and access can be arranged for weekend activities.

Meeting Rooms

General information about the meeting rooms:

• three multipurpose rooms are suitable for meetings, relaxation and exercise classes and small functions
• tables and chairs are provided and extras are available
• male, female, and disabled toilets are next to the rooms
• each room has a small pantry providing an urn and mugs
• the multipurpose rooms are available for hire seven days per week at very reasonable hiring rates

Theatre

• The Belconnen Theatre is centrally located in the Belconnen Community Centre on Swanson Court, opposite the Bus Interchange, near the Canberra Labour Club. There is a large parking area opposite the Theatre.
• The theatre has 174 seats and is air-conditioned and heated.
• There is a bio-box for full lighting and sound control.
• There are male and female dressing room facilities.
• Theatre hire is inexpensive, providing wide community access.
• The theatre is a good venue for conferences as well as performances and is also available for rehearsal space.
• The box office is equipped with an intercom system.

• The Stagedoor Cafe provides a licensed cafe service at all performances. Particular menus can be arranged on request and special catering organised for opening nights.

Art room

We are proud to offer a specially designed art room for community use.

Belconnen Gallery

• art gallery is available for hire
• focused on presenting work by local and emerging artists and arts groups
• generally hired for a two-week period

Sports hall

Facilities:

• volleyball court
• basketball half court
• badminton, two courts
• male and female dressing rooms, toilets and showers are provided. A disabled toilet is also provided.
• smoking, drinking and eating are not allowed in the sports hall
• white-soled shoes only in sports hall
• sports hall is available for hire seven days per week at very reasonable hiring rates.

Gym

Providing the following fully supervised classes:

• Aerobic / Circuit
• Mature Weights
• Mature Fitness
• Healthy Body, Healthy Mind (for mental health clients only)
